If you re looking for a book that has lots of family drama and some tough issues to ponder, you may want to give this one a try. It's a saga that spans decades, and it's thought-provoking and emotional as it follows the lives of two sisters, who are very different from each other. Sexual abuse, sexual orientation, race, and the good and bad of the free-love of the sixties are all topics covered in this story. Another strong theme is forgiveness, of oneself and others as well as choices, the hard ones that aren't always easy to make. The author showed how far women have come and also the beauty of being free to choose who you love and who you want to be. This is a beautify story about women; sisters, mothers, friends, and lovers. Recommend.
