PBR Review: (by- Andrea)
I loved this book! It begins with a Caribbean black and estranged siblings, Benny and Byron, who the family lawyer summons after their mother's death. Her last wish is for them to listen to a recording about their family history and share a Caribbean black cake. What ensues is a quest to find their true family history, including a long-lost sibling. This book has so many surprises. I couldn't put it down! The characters are so well developed it was easy to become completely invested. This is a fascinating story with many social issues that will provide many discussion points for a book club. It's a family saga and a coming-of-age story you should definitely add to your TBR list. |
