Gray Mountain
by John Grisham

Book Review by - Andrea
John Grisham's latest book, GRAY MOUNTAIN tells the story of a big corporation taking advantage of the poverty-stricken residents living in Appalachian Mountains. The protagonist is Samantha Kofer, a young Wall Street lawyer who moves to the small coal mining town after losing her job and becomes an advocate for the residents. It was a fast read giving an inside look at life in the Appalachia Mountains and what it's like to be powerless against a big corporation. I'm a huge Grisham fan, and although I enjoyed this book, it wasn't one of my favorites. I wasn't able to connect on an emotional level with the characters, and they didn't seem to be as believable as some of the other characters. It was still a good read and I'm looking forward to his next book.Back.
