Mortal Friends
by Jane Stanton Hitchcock

Book Review by - linda
This is a light, fun and easy to read book. Its billed as a mystery and although it does involve murder, the mystery is not the main focus of the book. The plot revolves around the social world of Washington DC with a little romance, a little adultery, lots of deceit and gossip. I found this frustrating at first, I was expecting a plot full of suspense and layered with intrigue, but the witty entertaining style of this author grabbed me and I did enjoy the book from start to finish. The plot twists and characters are interesting enough to draw you in and keep you turning the pages and I loved the descriptions of the glamorous parties and social life of Washington DC High society. In summary not a good mystery, but a nice change of pace book, perfect for beach or poolside reading.Back.
