We All Live Here reminds me of how connected we are and also the importance of family. Jojo Moyes perfectly captures the day-to-day life and the interactions between family members, giving us a cast of ordinary, yet flawed, people striving to stay strong. What I appreciated most was how their lives intertwined in surprising ways, showing the profound impact that kindness and compromise can have. The characters in the story felt incredibly real and relatable, especially Lila. As a divorced mother managing work, her children, and her household, she also has to navigate her relationships with her father, Gene, and her stepfather, Bill. Having both of them in the same room could drive anyone crazy! Despite this, I found them all endearing. I couldn't help but root for them to figure out life, friendship, and the possibilities of second chances, as well as learn to get along with one another. I truly enjoyed being part of this large and vibrant family. This book is ideal for readers who enjoy character-driven stories with poignant themes and emotional depth. Or if you liked Jojo Moyes' earlier works, like Me Before You. This will also appeal to readers who enjoy Liane Moriarty or those who love reading about everyday life. |
