Book Review

I loved this book - and I'm already thinking about which of my friends needs to read it, Perfect Life is a twisty character-driven thriller with enough domestic drama to slip into your beach bag.

Este is the heart of this novel. Five years ago, she walked away from an entire life in California and reinvented herself in an elite Florida community. She's complicated and morally gray, but likable, so you root for her even as you question her actions.

Beau, her husband, is the perfect counterbalance. On the surface, their marriage seems loving, but when suspicion falls on him after a murder rocks their affluent, close-knit neighborhood, everything begins to unravel. Watching Este question how well she truly knows the man she loves creates the emotional tension that keeps the pages turning.

This book will appeal to those who like domestic suspense, so fans of Alice Feeney's My Husband's Wife, or Mary Kubica's It's Not Her will love it. Anyone who enjoys reading about the lifestyles of the wealthy will also enjoy this one. And I think because the characters live in that morally gray area, book clubs can have some good discussions and fun with this book.

I really enjoyed Happy Wifeby these same authors, so if you have not read it, check it out.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bantam for sending me this e-ARC. I love getting an early peek at new books from my favorite authors.
