This was an incredible read, and everything I had expected from this author. Carley Fortune's character development and sense of place are amazing. I felt like I was experiencing the highs and lows right there with Alice in this beautiful lakeside summer setting. She also does an incredible job with Alice and Charlie's love story. It's beautiful and heartfelt, yet also laced with tension, making it feel real. I also loved her relationship with her grandmother, who doesn't have warm, fuzzy feelings when thinking about their Nana or Mimi. Overall, this is an excellent book for vacation or to pack in your beach bag. |
