Husbands and Lovers is the perfect book for you to escape into the pages of a book. It's about love, destiny, and facing the decisions made in the past. This love story uses dual timelines, present-day New England and Cario 1951. There are plenty of secrets to figure out and some surprising revelations.
I loved this book's historical details and the primarily likable characters. The story begins with Mallory receiving a phone call. Her son has fallen gravely ill at summer camp and needs a kidney transplant. The twist is that she is a single mom and is not a donor, so she must look not only into her own past but also into that of her adoptive mother.
This is an excellent read and will keep you turning the pages. It would make an excellent Book Club pick for a more light, easy read.
