5 Books To Read With Your Teen This Summer!

Sharing is caring!

Reading to your child is one of the best gifts you can give them, it helps build a life long love of books and creates a common interest you both share. Honestly, anything non-confrontational with a teen is a win.

When my girls were little, I would always read aloud to them, and we would make frequent trips to the library for story time. It was an activity we would all enjoy, they would fill up their totes with books, and off we would go to enjoy them all week long. I would love to go back to those carefree days with young kids.

As they got a little older, we would still go to the library, but mostly we would head to the book store, get a snack at the cafe and browse the aisles, separately of course. But in the end, we still had a common interest and an enjoyable outing to share.

Summer is the perfect time to share and discuss a book with your teen. It allows them to voice their own opinion and may give you some perspective on their thoughts. Below is a list of five Young Adult Books both you and your child can enjoy together. Don’t forget to visit the author or publisher’s website for some insight into the book. They may offer discussion questions or reading guides to help with some talking points.
